Switzerland: Valora with a new logistics strategy

The logistics of Valora AG will be centralized at the new location Egerkingen, approx. 35 km south of Basel. The current logistics structure in Muttenz with its 6 floors cannot meet the demands of a modern logistics and has reached its capacity limit. As part of their strategy for Valora, the company‘s management and administrative board have therefore decided for a move to Egerkingen by the end of 2009. In this connection the current IT-logistics systems will be replaced by a completely new software. The „key turning point Aarburg“ and the „terminal Oensingen“ will be integrated into the new logistics centre.

The objective of this comprehensive strategy is a significant reduction of the lead times in the field of press logistics. The move of the press logistics is already planned for the 2nd quarter of 2009.
